Leora Lutz Fall Shows and Non-Conflicts of Interest.

I have 3 shows coming up this fall!!

Kind of nice, since I usually don't have time for myself, what with being so busy pimping other artists and all.
Surprisingly, I somehow manage to make studio time for me too.

Perhaps many of you know that I am a painter.
For those of you who don't - now you do.
Being an artist and owning a gallery go hand-in-hand
over here at Gallery Revisited.

I sometimes see people apologizing for announcing their shows. I also know of a colleague who was faced with some interesting concerns regarding "personal" blogs on her gallery site.
And for those of you who are about to scream, "conflict of interest!!", look into what that phrase means before using it.
I have integrity and do not steer collectors away from the artists I show here.
However, being that the gallery is only operated and promoted by me, the contacts that I have generated over the years are entitled to hear all the news they want regarding me and/or the gallery.

In reference to an early Gallery Revisited blog, it is not unusual for artists to also own and run galleries.
In addition, being on the other side of the equation as a gallerist has been priceless for other reasons.

And for the sake of further argument to those of you who are about
to scream "vanity gallery!!", I do not show my own work.

I have diverse represention:
Lawrence Asher Gallery on Miracle Mile
sumis Boutique in Silver Lake
artpic Film and TV rental in NoHo
Galindo Home Design in Long Beach
realm Home Decor in China Town, Los Angeles

I have been on the down-low for about 3.5 years now, plodding away at my "little bread and butter" paintings, entitled "City Silhouettes".

During 2007, I have very slowly been working on larger work, for a series that may or may not be called something like Urban Apocalypses.

Now, without any further digressions,
Here are my fall shows:
October 10th through November 2.
"This is how it ended?"
curated by Ronald Lopez
McNish Gallery at Oxnard College
Lopez wrote:
Leora Lutz , transforms simple daily urban landscapes into bold, vibrant and emotional journeys on canvas. She creates a harmonious fusion of Gerhard Richter, Hudson River School (1860) and urban photography. Each piece lures the viewer with its eye candy color palette and titillating composition and is tied together with a copasetic title that can be perceived as random segments out of Ms. Lutz’s diary. These pages, or canvases, are about past nostalgic memories and emotions that remind the viewer that time is fleeting and the landscape (figuratively and metaphorically) is vast and timeless, especially when those moments are no more.

November 3rd Curated by Andrew Hosner of thinkspace gallery.
