All the Solo Shows are Canceled!!
"Internal Environments"
Now is "Internal Environments 2008: Project Forefront and Ongoing."
12 artists will work all year long, developing work and making work as usual, then exposing it in waves throughout the year.
There will be no solo or 2 person shows for each of them, and they will not be showcased one at a time - they will all be shown together.
In this way we can truly see the progression of the artists Internal Environment in the studio and engage in the Environment of the gallery continually.
----------
Initially, the curation premise was based upon a thread in the artists work; humor and fear, visceral and emotional relationships with nature, and the academic dialog with others or themselves.
Upon speaking with artists personally and individually I began to see another pattern:
Artists personal Internal stories being translated into art which we then view in the Environment of the gallery...for about 6 weeks - and then it's on to the next artist.
This is perhaps one of the most disruptive business plans for both making/displaying art and for maintaining consistent recognition both to artists and to galleries.
----------
The stages of the studio process will be divided into 4 receptions
that will each launch new clusters or major pieces of work.
MAY 10TH IS THE FIRST ONE....6PM TO 10PM
The shows will be hung Salon Style in the Main Gallery.
When the work sells it will be allowed to be taken by the collector almost immediately and even more new work could be set in its place, so, there will always be something new to see.
In addition, collectors can learn about the gallery's intent as a whole:
Showcasing Artists in the Forefront with Content Driven Accessible Art.
