Manifesto redux vs. Indie Capitalism

So, it seems the Facebook question has devolved into 50 comments.....several of which are very long.

I made a quick manifesto in said thread - a sort of spontaneous home-made chicken soup if you will...
With minor edits for even further clarity:
-------------------------------------------------------
To be Modern is to Renew your Own Voice and Words in the Context of Current Times.

Making art is first and foremost.
Meaning is and always will be paramount.

Affluence and pedigree are Not a "formula" for sincere and intellectual work/person, and no one should raise their impression of someone because of these things or discriminate others who lack these things
[affluence and pedigree] .

Nothing is "wrong" with raising or making money.
Selling art is not a bad thing. And certainly not a bad way to make a living.

Just because a lot of people like/buy your work does not make it meaningless nor you a superficial artist.
[all aesthetic aside]

I don't mind making Some art that blurs the boundaries between discourse and decoration,

because I know what my intentions are with it, and I Enjoy Helping Others Enjoy Art too.
[the operative word is Some]

Artists that receive grants should not be considered more committed to their careers than those who cannot receive them.
Non-profits should more frequently consider giving money to those that do not have financial means.

Travel, engage in the world, and bring your experience back to share/teach WithOut pretense and judgement.

There are at least 17 types of lies.  Do not practice doing any of them.

Be honest but not brutal - it just annoys people.

Social networking is fun, interesting, and d* it,  I LIKE having lots of friends in all different capacities, virtual and otherwise.

---------------------------------------------------
Oh - and did I mention, Making Art is first and foremost, and that Meaning is and always will be Paramount?

With that said, I for the record state that what you read here is just that.
And nothing more.
To state who I am not, is tragic.
