Leora Lutz in group show....

I am participating in a group show in support of my fellow gallery, another year in L.A. TONIGHT 7pm - 10pm

another year in L.A. presents "Gift Shop".
They are a truly impressive gallery, in one of my favorite deco buildings.
I am super curious to see the work of many noted heaviy hitters mixed in with lil' ol' me: Claes Oldenburg, John Baldessari, Osman Kahn, Jasper Johns and many more.
Some locals are YaYa Chou, Fette of the-flog fame,

This show is curated by David E. Stone, co-director of the gallery.
With opening night assistance from Paige Wery.

I will have for your perusing pleasure:
20) 4" x 6" works on paper intended to be purchased as a gift to write a special or personal note on the back, then frame later.

I will also have tshirts...

I look forward to seeing you!
Here is my new website update too.

Today!! Urban Artists on a Drive

The nice boy, Seizer just sent me this image of his pasted project on the billboard over the gallery building.

And I just got off the phone with the Boston Globe. They are doing a big profile on our new gallery artist, PIXNIT - whose "Spores" are gracing the streets of Boston as we speak, pollinating the crevices of the ancient American city. (if you can call 1700's ancient)

I'll be sure to notify you when that comes in - some time next week.
PIXNIT SPORE

There is a huge stir in Boston with the graffiti and urban street art movement. It is a very very conservative town...here we take all of that for granted and it becomes an integral part of our (literal) artistic landscape. Almost to the point that if it was not there, it would not be Los Angeles. Both the gang graffiti and the art graffiti.
Plus, our police force is way too busy fighting real crime to care about late night "beautification" projects. At least the art kind - we do have a good white-wash program for tagging, at least in Silver Lake. Well, gotta keep Normandie down. They are 2 blocks away from me...and my wall is a big tag canvas all the time.
(That's why it is so Reasonable, dare I say Rational that houses are selling for $650,000 on my block - but anyway, I digress)
More Pixnit in Boston:

Enjoy your drive when you see some art.

No, and not everything is art and not all graffiti is art and not all street art is graffiti.

Back Room Salon Goodness

As many of you know, Gallery Revisited has an open Back Room that we call the Salon.
Lately I've been likening it to the equivalent of a museum store - gives visitors something to relate to, to help them feel comfortable and invited.
Salon September 2006

Salon approx. March 2006 - I change it up all the time!

It's not a traditional back room in the sense that it is open for people to wander inside, (as opposed to a back room that you have to be invited to hang out in).
That's what Revisited is all about - looking at something in a new way.

The Salon is tucked away behind a wall so as not to conflict visually with the curated show. Some office stuff is there, the mini fridge and microwave (we eat here because we are not super models or machines) and a couple of chairs - people love peaking in like they are getting a glimpse into the secret world of gallery business.
I love supporting artists in this exciting and creative way - and educating people about what they are looking at, as well as offering choices.

Testimonial is the best kind of PR for an artist, so the more their name is out there, the more likelihood that they will have faster success.

There is all sorts of goodness in there right now. You can come in and take a look, or check it out here.

We can invoice you through Paypal if you like to look at art from home and can't resist getting things in the mail.
Just email me!
Yours Truly,
Leora Lutz
