Silver Lake Gallery Alliance

Contemporary Fine Art in the 5 Boroughs of Los Angeles.
That's right New York - I said Boroughs, and I said Los Angeles.

Silver Lake Gallery Alliance

The Silver Lake Gallery Alliance (SLGA) is a partnership of selected full-time galleries located in the Boroughs surrounding Silver Lake Reservoir; Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Echo Park, Atwater and the lower North East.

The SLGA was formed to create active support and collaboration amongst its members, in order to further the region as an important destination for showcasing the next generation of leaders in contemporary art.
SLGA will ensure a dynamic approach to a rapidly evolving artistic landscape within our community and beyond.

The region has a long tradition as a haven of creative pioneers and it is fitting that many galleries have recently moved here to establish their business in this progressive environment. From the earliest beginnings of motion pictures, to the home of famous indie writers and musicians, Silver Lake and the surrounding Burroughs were and continue to be a choice place for many alternative favorites. Noted personalities include Charles Bukowski, Anais Nin, Beck, Allison Anders, Henry Rollins, Lari Pittman and Karen O to name a few. The area also has the largest concentration of mid-century modern architecture in Los Angeles, drawing visitors to soak up the climate of this diverse and cutting edge neighborhood.

Visit the SLGA Blog or Myspace for gallery updates as well as neighborhood news - making “gallery days” a part of everyday life.

The gallery climate is changing – SLGA is ready to begin cementing this art destination.
